Contact Filters

Filters are reserved keywords that reduce, or narrow, your search results. They allow you to find items based on data element characteristics. For example, you can find items that have attachments or notes or flags. Or, you can find just faxes and contacts. Filters can be combined with other filters, words, phrases, Boolean logic and qualifiers to narrow a search to find exactly the items you want. To apply a filter to your search request, use it as one of the operands in a Boolean logic algebraic structure. For more information, see Advanced Search.

Tip: To invert the effect of a filter, precede it with the NOT operator.

Context Filters

Use these filters to find contacts by context:

• is:blocked - finds blocked contacts
• is:deleted - finds deleted contacts
• is:hidden - finds hidden contacts
• is:normal - finds normal contacts (i.e. none of the above)

Flag Filters

Use these filters to find flagged contacts:

• has:flag - finds flagged contacts
• with:flag - finds flagged contacts

Property Filters

Use these filters to find contacts with notes and tags:

• has:note - finds contacts with notes
• with:note - finds contacts with notes
• has:tag - finds contacts with tags
• with:tag - finds contacts with tags

Type Filters

Use these filters to find specific contact types:

• is:contact - finds individual contacts
• is:group - finds contact groups
• is:note - finds notepads
• is:notepad - finds notepads
